Classical Animation Workshop
Students will learn the basics of animation through traditional pencil and paper, or “tradigital” (hand drawn on the computer) animation. Students will use light tracing tables or Pencil 2D animation software to make their drawings come to life one frame at a time. Students will also learn animation fundamentals such as squash and stretch, anticipation, pose to pose drawing, and the process of storyboarding—a sequence of drawings to pre-visualize their story.
Stop Motion Animation Workshop
In a workshop setting, students will learn the basics of stop motion animation using toys, clay, paper, and found objects to create characters to be featured in their own film and learn the process of storytelling through storyboards.
3D Modeling Workshop
In this workshop, students will learn the basics of 3D character modeling using Sculptris, a program that makes 3D sculpting easy and fun. Students will get a complete comprehension of the software tools in Sculptris and how they’re used to make a number of 3D creations from scratch.
