ACOUSTIC DUETS, featuring Tom Falco and Chris Malloy
Start Date: February 20, 2013
End Date: February 20, 2013
Acoustic Duets begins its second year and eighth installment on a familiar note. Tom Falco invites a family member, cousin Chris Malloy. Once again this is a first, for although the cousins have played together in a number of bands, this will be the first time they will perform alone together.
Tom Falco official joined his brothers in the reconstituted “Water Street Blues Band” in the mid 90’s after occasionally sitting in with the earlier “Water Street Band.” By 1999, the band had dissolved and Tom joined his cousin Chris Malloy in “Backroads,” the main vehicle for Long Island Bluegrass legend Buddy Miriam. Chris would later continue playing bluegrass with Miller’s Crossing
The mid 2000’s saw the formation of Easy Chief with Tom on vocals, lead, rhythm and slide guitar and Chris on vocals, lead and rhythm guitar. The band was completed with Patrick Falco on bass, Mike Katzman on keys and Fred Golik on drums. They continue to thrill local audiences and are a standout at the annual Bradstock music festival.
Tom and Chris also play in an acoustic trio with Patrick. Chris recently began a new project called The Harvest Moon Allstars, which features the music of Neil Young.
