Join us for a two-hour introductory acting workshop for students ages 8-14, combining fundamental stage acting techniques with on-camera skills taught by acting teacher Laurie Ann Davis, owner of 3 Stage Studios Productions. This session aims to introduce students to foundational acting concepts while generating interest in future classes at The Plaza!

Students will…
Develop basic stage and on camera presence.
Understand the differences between acting for the stage versus a camera.
Gain confidence through improvisation and acting games.
Receive feedback in a supportive, engaging environment.
The workshop will feature a dynamic blend of activities:
Acting Games & Warm-ups: Engaging, high-energy exercises to build ensemble, focus, and stage presence.
Mini Monologues: Introduction to character development and delivering short, prepared pieces.
TV Commercial: On-camera exercise focusing on how to connect with the lens, timing, and making a quick impression.
Film Scenes: Working in pairs or small groups on short scenes to apply camera-specific techniques.
All recorded work (commercials and scenes) will be played back immediately for review and discussion on the Plaza's large cinema screen.
Q&A/Wrap-Up: Reviewing the day's lessons and discussing opportunities for future involvement in the arts.
